Welcome to Year Two. Our class teacher is Miss Jakeman. Our teaching assistant is Mrs Stubbs and Mrs Jones.
In Year Two we have Forest School on Thursday. Please come to school in appropriate outdoor clothing and bring wellingtons that can be left in school, or go home at the end of the day.
PE will be on Friday. Children will need PE kit with trainers. PE lessons will take place both indoors and outdoors, so please ensure that your child has a jumper and tracksuit bottoms to wear in colder weather. PE kit should remain at school during term time.
Children will have access to Numbots which we will use in class once a week. This is a games based app that supports the children’s knowledge of counting, addition and subtraction. Children should bring their reading books and reading records into school every day. Spelling books should also be brought into school daily, and spellings should be practised regularly at home either in their books or using the ‘Spelling Shed’ website. STRIVE FOR FIVE!
Read daily or at least five times a week! Please read for at least 10-15 minutes a day in Years Reception,1 ,2, 3, 4 and at least 20 minutes Years 5 and 6. Remember reading little and often is the best way to develop an understanding of vocabulary, comprehension and fluency.
